This iconic Fortuny floor lamp would make a dramatic statement in any room either residential or commercial. For a collector of iconic design pieces or someone who wants a dramatic element in their living space – this lamp will perform. The lamp is the petite size in the colour combination of Moda Beige cotton outer shade and a white cotton inside. The frame is titanium colour. This original Fortuny is the smallerof the two sizes. It is a rare find and is in mint condition.
Conceived by Mariano Fortuny in 1907, the Fortuny floor lamp continues to be considered a contemporary and timeless icon to this day. The know-how and talent of the eclectic artist gave shape to the Fortuny lamp design with which he revolutionized stage lighting and experimented with a new indirect lighting system for the stage. The idea for the base came from the camera’s tripod, with its adjustable leg, while for the lampshade Mariano Fortuny reversed the typical lampshades of the time, making them tiltable and thus creating a light orientation instrument. In the history of design, there are few projects capable of lending themselves to new interpretations, keeping an unmistakable personality. The lamp uses a steel tripod design with adjustable legs, giving it a greater deal of stability as well as customization.The shade itself can be adjusted and is made from cotton to aid the bulb in supplying a concentrated and warm source of light.The shade has a typical shape of the 1900s but has been put upside down and made with a tilt function
